To kick off our hot springs tour we are looking for some volunteers to
help us clean up Loftus. We will go out Sunday 02/20/11 plan to be ready
to leave at 10:00 am. Bring warm, and appropriate gear to clean up the
land surrounding the hot springs, and a dinner or snacks to get you by.
We can soak in our freshly cleaned hot spring upon completion of the
job. Depending on the number of volunteers, we may need someone to help
with transportation- 4×4 prefered. We will decide on meeting location
later in the week.
I can fit 4 more people in my Jeep Wagoneer so I will post me and my
vehicle and if you have a 4×4 you will use you can post your and number
of seats as well.
Please sign up as a member on the forum and after you do MAKE SURE to
message me to let me know your user name so I can approve your account.
If you need help please let me know and I’ll walk you through the steps.
Doing this is how you sign up for your own spot as this is an ALL
volunteer organization, plus going through the steps helps you remember
that you are volunteering that day ๐
Nice to see another fan of natural hot springs. Stop by ours next time you are in Panama!
Well it snowed to much so the cleanup got canceled. Trash covered in snow is hard to find haha.
@Caldera Hotsprings
We’ll be more than happy to come down and clean all the hotsprings in your area if you send us a couple plane tickets and supply room and board :)just sayin !
I would love to be on your email list and participate in any clean ups you may have in Idaho. I live in Boise, and would be thrilled to participate. I also have a 4X4 and am able to provide transportation for others wanting to participate.
Thanks, Darin!
Stay tuned to the blog, all BRV organized hot springs cleanups and other group cleanups are usually posted here!

Thanks again!
Just got back from loftus from over the weekend 5-14-11, it appears someone destroyed the wall with a hammer the water is temporarily being kept in with a tarp. Only about a foot deep at most now.
No good! Thanks for the update, Jeremie!
I’ve received pics of the damage from another soaker… do you know who is responsible? I’ve heard that it was the FS and that it was someone who is attempting to improve/expand/redo the exisiting pool.
that is just ridiculous that someone would do that ! FS or otherwise. The guy that built it got charged because he got caught so I was thinking about getting cooperation from the FS to rebuild and improve that one and some others and provide a regular cleaning and maintenence of hotsprings to go along with the trash pick up.
We haven’t been able to do HS cleanups this year because I couldn’t afford it. Cash has been tight ๐ hoping by next season we’ll have more funding.
