Volunteer Event! Loftus Clean-Up Sunday 02/20/11

To kick off our hot springs tour we are looking for some volunteers to
help us clean up Loftus. We will go out Sunday 02/20/11 plan to be ready
to leave at 10:00 am. Bring warm, and appropriate gear to clean up the
land surrounding the hot springs, and a dinner or snacks to get you by.
We can soak in our freshly cleaned hot spring upon completion of the
job. Depending on the number of volunteers, we may need someone to help
with transportation- 4×4 prefered. We will decide on meeting location
later in the week.
I can fit 4 more people in my Jeep Wagoneer so I will post me and my
vehicle and if you have a 4×4 you will use you can post your and number
of seats as well.

Please sign up as a member on the forum and after you do MAKE SURE to
message me to let me know your user name so I can approve your account.
If you need help please let me know and I’ll walk you through the steps.
Doing this is how you sign up for your own spot as this is an ALL
volunteer organization, plus going through the steps helps you remember
that you are volunteering that day

Skinnydipper Clean Up Tuesday 4/6/10

After reading the hotspringsguy’s post on Skinnydipper it is hard to not want to go clean it up! Boise River Volunteers will be having a clean up on Tuesday 4/6/10- we will meet at 10am and clean then soak- plan for this to be an all day event. Tons of trash along with tons of fun, bring food, warm enough clothes for the weather, and money to chip in on gas if you can. Sign up at riverhelpers or comment for assistance in getting signed up. We are always glad to accept new volunteers!

Hotsprings campground clean up this Sat 2/27, family friendly trip

This saturday we plan to go up to Hot Springs Campground for a clean up. We do plan to bring some children, and encourage others to feel free to as well. With that we will have a bathig suits mandatory soak at the end and also discourage drinking after the clean up. We plan to meet at the Home Depot on State St. at 10am. Juntura Hot Springs in Oregon Clean-Up 2/7/10

The Boise River Volunteers plan to go out and clean up Juntura Hot Springs located in SE Oregon this weekend. We also plan to cook dinner after we are done cleaning. Anyone who is interested in coming out with us can sign up right here – it’s free (we do like gas chip ins), and a ton of fun!

Wild Rose (Milford Sweat) Clean Up SUCCESS!

We finally made it to Wild Rose- and worth every second of anticipation in getting there. Along the way we pit stopped for a little morning motivation at Outlaws and Angels in Bliss, to find the craziest local bar any of us had seen in a while! Upon arriving at the hotsrpings the place was trashed! Largely with the normal cans, bottles, clothing, and cigarette butts, but then even to our surprise a few hypodermic needles, and other undesirable debris! The soak was great, good deep tub, a little slimy in spots, but all together excellent. Not hot, but warm enough to enjoy our well earned soak!

Wild Rose Hot Springs Clean Up this Sunday, 1/24/10, 9:00am

We will be cleaning Wild Rose Hot Springs, located near Carey, Idaho this Sunday, 1/24/10- and nothing will get in the way this time! We will be meeting up at 9:00am, and would love some help if anyone is interested. If enough people sign up we may need some people to volunteer to drive too- let us know if you can. Sign up Here!

Loftus Clean Up 1/10/10

Last Sunday we went and cleaned up Loftus on a somewhat short notice, due to uncertain funding. It was a mess- the majority of it coming from a combination of glow sticks, the plastic pieces that hold them together and bullet shells. Other debris from tea light candles and other small odds and ends cluttered the surrounding area, upon cleaning it the soak was well worth the work involved! Check out our pictures!

Trail Creek Hot Springs Clean Up

Due to lack of funding Boise River Volunteers went to Trail Creek Hot Springs in Idaho on 12/27 instead- and a great choice it worked out to be! The soak was AMAZING as can be expected! and the trash- moderate, it took a little bit of hunting, but once found we got nearly a black bag’s worth. Idaho Hot Springs have a new group of champions; the Boise River Volunteers have expanded their cleanup efforts to now include hot water.

I would like to introduce Amber Hoid (Twitter), of the Boise River Volunteers as a new guest blogger here on www.hotspringsguy.com! W00t!

She’ll be posting (as in, has already posted twice) about BRV hot springs cleanup efforts… when they are, how to sign-up and pictures from past events.

Here is the link to our next clean up at Wild Rose Hot Springs in Idaho. If you are new, please fill out the contact section at riverhelpers.com so that we can add you to our email list for upcoming events, and so that you can post on the forum. We plan to leave Boise at 9am- clean then soak. Due to funding constraints and distance we ask that all volunteers bring about $10 for gas costs for this one! Also, if there are more volunteers than seats we someone else willing to drive with other passengers- to organize that please comment!
