Fellow soak seekers have graciously contributed the following hot springs trip reports for hot soaks in both Idaho and California.

Willow Creek, Baumgartner and Bridge Creek Hot Springs in Idaho from Mandy Hardan Stansell

We hit Bridge HS today, and it was silty and full of bacteria mats, but warm. The HS was obviously this was due to low use. We got there around 10am, and there were several passerby that just wanted to see the pools.

Willow Creek was hot but FILLED with bacteria mats. We decided to move on and hit Baumgartner, since it seems to be a sure thing instead of spending the time to get the gunk out.

Baumgartner was A+. We got there around noon, and we soaked for at least an hour (or two). There was one couple there telling us about the bears nearby (they’ve been spotted–have bear spray!), and other funny stories about their past visits to the springs. Both my friend and I had never been to Baumgartner, though we knew of it, so it was an awesome bonus to our Sunday trip.

This little visited Hot springs just had a major upgrade! It recently went from a small 4 x 4 ft by 2 ft deep concrete hot tub and a 4 x 8 ft x 2 ft deep oval warm tub. Which by the way were just cleaned! To include a 3rd all new heart shaped jacuzzi style in ground tub, completely stone lined and mortared. It sports 3 molded seats as well as a drain for easy clean out and is approx. 30 inches deep. Overall size is 7 ft x 8 ft.

Located in the desert with mountain ranges in all directions for beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Unofficial camping, no amenities, the great outdoors. Enjoy.

Directions to this Hot Springs: Traveling west from Eureka, Nv, on Highway 50 approx 25 miles, turn right on Three Bars Rd for 2.1 mi. Take a right on bumpy powerline road for 1.4 mi, bear left toward tufa mound.
